Template Library & Selection

Updated this week

Clara Templates control how AI structures and formats generated notes.

You can create, manage, and select templates from the AI Scribe → Templates section.

Template Library Tabs

In AI Scribe → Templates, you will see three tabs:

  • My Templates
Templates you have starred for quick access.

  • Office
Public templates within your practice, plus any templates you created.

  • Community
Shared templates across tenants, including official templates.

Common Template Actions

Within the Templates section, you can:

  • Create a new blank template

  • Star or unstar templates for quick access

  • Import templates from the Community library

  • Duplicate templates you do not own

  • Open the full template editor to modify content (if permitted)

Note: You cannot edit another user’s private template unless you duplicate it first.

Selecting Templates During Note Generation

When generating a note (via Submit Recording or streaming):

  • Transcript Only
Cleans and structures the transcript without applying a Clara Template.

  • Starred Templates
Appear as selectable options during generation.

  • Recent Selections
Previously used templates are surfaced first for convenience.

If no Clara Template is selected, Clara defaults to the system SOAP context.

Search Behavior

  • Office Templates
Search by template name, description, or creator.

  • Community Templates
Search using community keywords with paginated results.

Recommended

  1. Star only high-value, frequently used templates.

  2. Use Office templates for internal team standards.

  3. Use Community templates when sharing or reusing generic documentation formats across practices.
