The Date of Service is the date associated with the care documented in a SOAP note. QuickerNotes determines it primarily from what the note is linked to. These rules apply to both Text Notes and SOAP Form notes.
How QuickerNotes Chooses the Date of Service
Appointment-linked note: Uses the date of the linked appointment.
Class-linked note: Uses the date of the linked class visit.
Unlinked or standalone note: Uses its own saved Date of Service. A new unlinked Text Note starts with the date the note was created in the property's timezone.
Copied note: When you copy a note from History and select an appointment or class, the copy is linked to that visit and uses that visit's date. If you do not select a visit, the copy is created as an unlinked note. QuickerNotes does not automatically match it to a nearby appointment.
New unlinked notes created from the client profile are Text Notes. An existing SOAP Form may still appear as unlinked if its visit link is removed or its visit is deleted.

What Happens When a Note Is Linked or Unlinked
Linking or relinking a note changes its Date of Service to the date of the selected appointment or class visit.
Explicitly unlinking a draft note resets its Date of Service to the date the note was originally created. Review the date before signing.
A deleted or canceled appointment may leave the note unlinked while retaining the former appointment date. Review the note rather than assuming its Date of Service changed to its creation date.
The visit picker shows the note's current Date of Service and the appointments or classes available for linking.
When You Can Edit the Date of Service
The Edit option next to Date of Service is available only when all of the following are true:
The note is unlinked.
The note is still a Draft.
You are the note's author.
Your role includes permission to create notes.
Open the unlinked draft note.
Click Edit beside Date of Service.
Choose the correct date and click Save.
If you do not see Edit, the note is linked, completed, belongs to another staff member, or your role does not have the required permission.
The Date of Service editor is available on eligible unlinked draft notes.
Linked and Completed Notes
A linked note does not have a separate Date of Service editor because its date comes from the linked appointment or class visit. First confirm that the note is linked to the correct visit.
Signing a note makes it read-only. Resetting a note to Draft does not change its Date of Service by itself. After a reset, the original author can edit the date only if the note is unlinked and they have the required permission.
If Two Screens Show Different Dates
A linked note's main page may show the current visit date, while lists, date filters, printed Text Notes, billing, or exports may use the saved Date of Service recorded when the link was established. This is most likely after an appointment or class was rescheduled, deleted, or relinked.
Check whether the note is labeled as linked to an Appointment, linked to a Class, or Unlinked.
Confirm that the linked visit and its date are correct.
If it is your unlinked draft, use Edit to correct the date.
If it is a draft linked to the wrong visit, select the correct visit.
If the note is completed or different screens still disagree, preserve the note and contact QuickerNotes Support. Do not repeatedly unlink and relink a completed note while troubleshooting.
