Use the Live Transcript Panel

The Live Transcript Panel allows you to capture speech in real time and review the transcript as it streams.

Start a Recording

  1. Click the Clara sparkle icon in the header.

  2. Choose a recording mode:

    • Record Session → Multi-speaker conversation

    • Dictate Notes → Single-speaker dictation

  3. Click Start Recording.

During Recording

While recording, you can:

  • Use Pause, Resume, and Finish controls.

  • View live transcript segments with timestamps.

  • Click Scroll to Latest if you have scrolled upward.

  • Note: If the browser tab goes into the background, recording will pause automatically for safety.

Using Transcript Only

After recording (or when pasting/uploading a transcript), you can choose Transcript Only when generating.

This option:

  • Cleans up the raw transcript

  • Organizes the content into a structured note

  • Generates documentation without applying a Clara Template

This is ideal when you want a polished version of what was said without template-based formatting.

Review the Transcript Later

You can review transcript content at any time:

  1. Go to Recordings.

    1. Click on a Recording to re-apply it

    2. Click a note to view the note the recording was applied to

Interrupted Recording Recovery

If a session is interrupted, Clara will offer:

  • Resume Recording

  • Use As-Is

  • Discard

Audio and transcript data are temporarily preserved so you can continue after a refresh or interruption.
