If your property bills insurance or gives clients superbills, you can have QuickerNotes flag signed notes that have no billing (CPT) codes. This helps providers add their own codes so superbills are complete.
When tracking is on for a property:
Signed notes without billing codes show a No billing codes badge on the SOAP Notes page.
The Billing Filter appears on the SOAP Notes page.
The property is included in Reports → Unbilled Notes.
Turn On Tracking for a Property
Tracking is off by default for every property. Turn it on for each property that bills insurance.
Go to Settings → Properties.
Find the property and go to the Documents & superbills section.
Check Track billing codes on notes. The change saves right away.
Uncheck it to turn tracking off. The badge, filter, and report then stop including that property. No codes are removed from notes.
The No Billing Codes Badge
On the SOAP Notes page, a yellow No billing codes badge appears on signed notes that have no billing codes. Drafts do not get the badge.
Add a billing code to the note and the badge goes away.
Find Signed Notes Without Billing Codes
Go to SOAP Notes in the left sidebar.
Open the Billing Filter and choose Signed, missing billing codes.
Open each note and add codes in the Insurance Codes section.
You can combine the Billing Filter with the provider, client, and service filters. Choose All notes to see every note again.
Unbilled Notes Report
For counts by provider and a date range, use Reports → Unbilled Notes. See Unbilled Notes Report.
Who Sees This
The badge and the Billing Filter show for users whose role has Insurance Codes: view permission.
If no property tracks billing codes, the badge, filter, and report are hidden for everyone.
To add codes to notes, see Insurance Codes (Billing & Diagnosis).
